Message from the Principal
It gives me immense pleasure to be the principal of this upcoming institute which was started with a dream to make it a college equivalent to any other premier medical institute in the country. From its inception in 2012, Murshidabad Medical College has come a long way and my predecessors and colleagues have toiled very hard to bring it to the present status, where its existence is felt in a big way.
The science of medicine is advancing by leaps and bounds. While keeping pace with this abundance of knowledge is a challenge, the greater challenge is to make it available for the benefit of our students and patients especially in regions of the state where access and affordability to health care are major hurdles.
I, personally feel, that there are two very important issues. The curriculum needs to evolve and thereby suit the changing times and scenario as per the emerging problems in our country. Secondly, easy availability of IT-based teaching aids for students and teachers alike. Each student should be made aware of the current situations and requirements of medicine and therefore taught skills relevant to medical science which are acceptable in the global arena. Communication and documentation methods will be inculcated in the curriculum in the initial phases of undergraduate education.
We will aspire to become the best in medical education and patient care not only in our state but the country and to produce medical scientists who can meet the professional and scientific challenges of the current situation.
